Overview
A star of listening and learning, associated with knowledge and connection. In classical Vedic texts it is counted as the 22nd of the 27 Nakshatras, ruled by Moon with Vishnu as its presiding deity.
Symbol & associations
Its symbol is the ear / three footprints, which tradition reads as an image of the star’s spirit. Its commonly listed associations are the colour light blue, the number 2 and the gemstone pearl — things some people like to keep near them as a small reminder of their star, nothing more.
Ruling planet & deity
Shravana is ruled by Moon, which in a Vedic chart stands for your mind, emotions and instincts. Its presiding deity is Vishnu. In classical texts the ruling planet is said to colour the general “flavour” of the star — but remember this describes a traditional category, not you personally.
Gana (temperament group)
Every Nakshatra is grouped into one of three ganas. Shravana belongs to the Deva gana — the “divine” temperament — traditionally seen as gentle, kind and drawn to harmony. These groupings are a broad traditional idea used when comparing charts; they are not a judgement of anyone’s character.
How to use this
Treat this page as a friendly introduction to the symbolism around Shravana — a way to learn the tradition, not a forecast. Two people born under the same star can live completely different lives. If something here resonates, enjoy it as one small lens; if it doesn’t, let it go.
